No power after new battery!

iPod TOuch 4th gen no power after new battery all contacts are soldered on...what is wrong?

I just shorted it...now the tip of my finger is burnt and black, and so is the resistor. Thanks a lot. Now the entire board is toast!

have you plugged it into itunes to see if it is recognized? You may to bridge that one contact with the charging dock, this is an issue on the 4th gen whenever you open it and remove the screen/battery.

iTunes does not recognize, just replaced the battery with another new one, still doesnt. Ill try the short and put it all back together and see what happens

The computer made a ding noise (device removed from usb) and thats it...huh?

board was getting hot then stopped and cooled off...after jumper board is warm but not hot...tried shorting the charging system but didnt work unless im doing it wrong HELP
