closing Pages a problem

I have a Pages document that won't close because the red dot by the amber and green one is blank and won't therefore work. What can I do as I cannot close down my computer because of this?

Hi Clare,

You can 'Force Quit' the Pages app. You do that by right clicking on the Pages icon in the dock and then pressing the alt key. When you press the alt key, the text 'Quit' will change into 'Force Quit'. If you click on that, Pages should close and your Mac should be able to shut down.
