iPhone 4S No Loudspeaker Sound (after dock replacement)

Hi all,

I have replaced a dock connector because of an issues with it's mic not working. Previous to this, the loudspeaker was working, headphones and without, ringtones, notifications.

The Dock Connector now works fine, charging, microphone and all. However, I can no longer hear notifications, ringtones or music. It seems that the headphones work perfectly and the phone is not stuck in any 'headphone mode'.

Some quick notes;

• No sound through loudspeaker in calls, video/sound recordings or music, notification or ringtones.

• (new) Dock connector working, in connection/charging and mic recording (Siri, etc)

• Tried full restore

• Reinstalled Speaker assembly / checked connections

• Speaker assembly working previously with faulty dock connector.

Any ideas apart from a new speaker assembly? If I have to I will but seems odd how it worked previously and not now?

Can you try putting in old dock and see does the speakers work if they do then the new dock is faulty.

you can try pushing the gold prongs up a tad on the rear of the speaker just to make sure they are making contact with the dock

hi con, thanks again - I followed this test, installed previous dock, although the mic is faulty on the dock the speaker assembly did sound off to everything, so I know that works - I've got myself two faulty dock connectors!

Thanks again, and I'll ensure the gold prongs do fit the next replacement I get - I'm certain they were with the previous 2 anyway.
