Replaced BATT and now nothing.

I replaced the batt in my iphone5 from the ifixit kit. The first attempt, i powered on the phone and the scrn was strange. I can make out the lock scrn but has a gray stripe down the center from top to bottom. And touch scrn was not responding. I needed to reseat the scrn connections. So I went at it. took it all apart and did exactly that. Now the phone is not powering on. Scrn is black. I plug it in to charge it and I hear a chirp every 5-10 seconds.

I am aware I took on this responsibility. Just looking for some guidance.

Sounds like a backlight problem to me.

Plug in the phone to the computer, see if it is recognized by iTunes---if so, it is either the LCD (less likely) or the backlight (more likely)

iPhones really don't like for you to reseat connectors while they are still powered on, it makes them blow a fuse---to avoid this in the future make sure to religiously disconnect the battery first before doing anything else.

This is a board-level repair, if you have trouble finding a local professional feel free to give me a shout for mail-in.

When there are vertical lines after reconnecting the screen, it usually means the ribbon cables aren't connected all the way. As for the battery and the chirping, it sounds like you may have a faulty battery. I would definitely get a replacement. If you need one, contact me! :) I'm willing to help with parts!
