Battery Indicator Button not flush, also, higher capacity batteries?

Hey everyone,

It seems that my battery power indicator button has been pushed in a bit and is no longer flush with the side of the computer. I am planning to crack open my computer soon to replace the dying battery within. Was wondering if anyone knew if the button can be seen from within inside, and if I would be able to push the little bugger back into position, or it's all hidden away.

Also, I was wondering whether it would be possible to buy and install a battery of higher capacity into my Macbook, or is there none available/wouldn't work?

Thanks for all the help in advance. =)

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Bump! Can anyone help? Like I said, on the side of every Macbook, there are the battery indicator LED lights. The button for these lights is no longer flush with the computer and was wondering if this is something easily fixed?

Also, is there any such thing as high capacity batteries for Macs?

To start with the battery tester is wedged between the battery and the case. So you'll first need to take the battery out and disconnect the ribbon cable to the logic board to then remove the screws holding it in place. Sounds like you'll need to clean the button recess once you get the part out first.

As to batteries: While technology has moved on with better batteries your limited on what you can put in to your system. Apple does not make a higher capacity battery for your system.

Model #: A1321

Watt Hours (Wh): 72

Power Rating: 6400-6900 mAh

You may want to look at something like this: HyperJuice external batt pack. We have bought a few and have found them useful when the availability of power is slim to none at work sites.

Sorry for the late reply, as usual, hahaha! I'm planning to do that anyway, since my battery is gone. So it's easily accessible once I take the battery out? It's not trapped in a fiddly enclosure or anything? Cause...you know Apple haha!

I was having a little browse and found one on OWC, which I know a lot of people rate quite highly. It's a NuPower battery by NewerTech:

Have you ever used this brand? Are they reliable?

Thanks for that recommendation. I have an external battery already so I might just get that Magic Box. Or I might just get another external battery. These are quite good prices.

Thanks for all your help! =D
