iPod touch 4 will not power on...didn't turn off screen before unplug

So, by mistake, I didn't turn off the ipod before I unplugged the screen. I was testing it to see if I had the digitizer plugged in correctly and when I noticed I didn't, i just unplugged and went to working on it. Not remembering to turn it off first. now the ipod will not power on. Any suggestions?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Possibly shorted something. Have you tried a hard reset on it with all cables attached?

are you sure it's not turning on---i.e. iTunes does not recognize it? It would be much more likely that it's just a backlight problem.

I meant to update this sooner. I just unplugged the new screen, let the battery die and when I plugged it back up and ten plugged the device in, the screen powered on as normal. Not sure what caused it to do that, but I'm glad it's working now. Thanks guys!

Lauren--letting the battery die out is the same thing as doing a hard reset---hold the power and home button for 10 seconds.

A hard reset often solves a lot of iDevice problems. If a hard reset doesnt solve, your next step is trying with a known good screen--i.e. your old screen to make sure the problem isn't a defective new screen or torn/damaged flex cable. If that fails to solve, then think backlight problem on motherboard.
