Will not respond, battery replaced goes flat and then the same problem

I have recently had three iPhone 5's with the same problem, the problem is that it would not respond to anything tried hard reset and plugging the iPhone in to the mains but still nothing.

However when I replaced the battery it powered up and everything worked fine until the battery ran flat and has reverted back to the same problem.

Just a shout out to see if anyone has had the same problem and to see if there is a fix or not.

Best regards Tom.

Yeah the charging port works fine, i did replace the charging port but had the same problem the only thing i think it could be is something to do with the main board. Alas my knowledge of board repairs is quite low.

Tom, this could be caused by a shorted/failed Charging and USB Control IC Texas Instrument CSD75202w15. It is a Dual P-Channel NexFET™ Power MOSFET which is utilized as battery management and for battery protection. You can download the datasheet from here It is a BGA IC and as such it requires a reball to replace. You may get away with a reflow just to see if it will make a difference. Of course this is only one piece, even so it is a likely candidate, you always want to check your board for any missing, broken or charred components. Hope this helps, good luck.
