What is the difference between headphone jack flex cable and board

The headphone jack on my iPad 4 is not working. Only the left side works.

I could find parts needed. Something of the two should I choose? What is the difference.

Options

If you are getting sound on just the left then you need the iPad 4 jack flex cable.

Options

You need the whole board. Those components are soldered together so it is much easier to get them already connected.
