I thought the same thing about 60 seconds not really warming it much so I put it in for 2 minutes and it did not go so well. Do not heat it for more than 60 seconds.

what happened?

Started smoking and slightly singed the microwave base. Also made me room and me stick of really badly burnt popcorn.

Had to throw the iOpener out as well because of the burned nature of the bag.

Only ever microwave the iOpener for 60 seconds at at time! If you find that the iOpener isn't quite warm enough after the first microwaving, go ahead and put it back in for another 30 seconds. It should be between 160F - 190F after that, and totally usable.
