Hello folks.
My fan began sounding weird.
I'm not sure how to describe a sound. I only heard air moving, today it sounds more like an electric motor, like a loud hard drive.
I popped the lower case, fan is a bit dusty, but it does not look clogged or obstructed.
What can it be? Is there any DIY remedies I can try?

don't use WD40 to lubricate your fan instead use sewing machine oil. Check this link and you'll know why:

You can try lubricating the fan with a light oil. Just pull the blade assembly off the fan and put oil on the pin. However, you should replace the fan as the lubrication doesn't last long.

Does it mean fan is dying or does it just need maintenance?
Is there some specific reason for a fan to go dead, I'd like to know if there are steps to prevent the next one go bad.
