Thanks Mayer. I applied thermal paste on a PC before, this is my very first experience with Mac. and I may be asking a lot more when I figure out this rig. To be sure, this is the one in question. Power Mac G4 M5183

My boss gave it to me, he said the board was burnt, don't know if anything else is burnt so this where I started. your response made me feel at home here.
