Screen stays black & unresponsive

Hi Guys.

Hopefully someone can help.

I have asked to look at an iPhone 4 where the screen is blank & unresponsive.

I have tried 3 new screens all with the same result i can see the backlight is coming on as i have tried it with just the motherboard, screen, battery & dock connector out of the phone but getting nothing on screen.

I have also tried assembling the phone & holding the power/home button down for a soft reset still nothing.

I know the phone is on as when I plug it into iTunes it asks me to allow access into the phone which i cannot do as the screen is unresponsive.

I cannot run data recovery as i can't allow the phone to trust my Mac.

Anyone have any ideas or any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there I the phone running old iOS 5 or 6 cause the new screens won't recognise the old firmware!

If it's on ios7 then I would look at the pins on the logicboard for damage around the lcd make sure there not bent or broken off.

Hi Con.

The logic board on this phone is getting very hot when the backlight is active.

The screen is still activating i can swipe to open & input the passcode but the screen is staying black. This could be the logic board has burned something out ?

Very funny this is happening to all 3 screens but phone under a light can you see the screen very faint if so the backlight has blown

try doing a soft reset power+home hold at the same time for about 30 sec that should fix it as long as the board isnt water damaged. A also try looking to see if the conectors on the board are all good and not broke.

I'm trying to do the soft reset but it keeps taking screenshots but the power button seems ok as it activates the phone etc it just won't stay on when held

looking at the pins under a magnifying glass they are all intact & not bent they look fine.

No signs of any liquid damage.
