iPhone 4 replacement displays not working, any suggestions please?

Hi,

I'm having trouble with new display assemblies on an iPhone 4. I've tried three from two different suppliers and they all stay blank when I try to switch the phone on.

- The phone works fine with the original (smashed) screen reinstalled

- iTunes recognises the phone ok in normal and DFU modes

- The backlight does not come on with the new screens

After a lot of internet searching I saw a comment on this thread and decided to try booting up with the old screen installd and hot-swap to one of the new screens.. The two new screens I have here still both work fine with this method but only until the phone is switched off!

Can anyone help please, what is going on and how do I fix it?

I had this problem yesterday with a iPhone still running 5.1.1 the screen worked every time in my test phone but not in this phone..

It's sumthing to do with the new screens for china not sure the whole lingo of it but on old software they will not fire.. If update the phone to the later at software the screen will spring in to life for you..

What firmware is the screen running

Hi con, thanks for the input. In DFU mode, iTunes tells me that the iPhone software is up to date, but I don't have a version number.

If it in dfu mode it wouldn't tell you the software is up to date

Dfu will just tell you to restore. A restore should sort it .

That sorted it thank you so much!
