Installation of USB Charge Port Causing Mic Module to fail. Why?

I have replaced four failed Micro-USB charge ports now and every single time I end up frying the microphone module that is close to the port requiring replacement. I am using a hot air rework to remove port and soldering iron to replace port.

What is causing the microphone module failure? I have tried protecting it with both capxon and aluminum tape and both of those individually.

I use the hot air rework to replace mic module with new one and it works fine.

This is bugging me, any thought?
