Lets backup here a bit: Google TV is a streaming service which can stream content from the internet or from a media server you have your personal content on.

Think of it this way, it's in competition with Apples iTunes solution, as such you can have a iPhone or iPad with no onboard storage get stream content from the internet via Apples streaming servers directly. If you happen to own a PC with iTunes you can download content to your systems HD and then watch the stored content via your PC's display or directly on the HDMI connected TV.

Google TV offers the something via a Google Android phone, a TV with the onboard application or via a Buddy box which runs the application on it. In either case you need to be connected to the internet & cable service. Some Buddy boxes allow you to connect to a media server which can host your content.

As to your direct Q on your Blu-Ray collection. Depending on what you bought you might have a copy of the content in its digital format UltraViolet or you may need to convert via a program the Blu-Ray content to your media server. Then via the Buddy box stream it to your TV.

I usually backup my Blu-rays to MKV without quality loss with Pavtube ByteCopy, it preserves more than one audio streams and subtitle tracks so I can freely switch languages when watching movies on my TV at home.
