Headphone jack not working after dock replacement?

I recently had a malfunctioning home button due to water damage and so I went about replacing both home button flex and charging dock. After changing the dock the home button still doesn't work and now my headphones aren't detected when I insert a jack into the plug. It'll keep playing music/sound through speaker as if nothing is connected. I even put in the old assembly which worked fine without home button function and now that too isn't detecting headphones. Could someone possibly have some insight or guidance to pinpoint my problem? TIA

Answer this question I have this problem too

If you old headphone jack is working fine and the new 1 is not then it's a faulty part..

There is a way of checking if the dock is faulty for the home button issue.. If you open up phone not taking any cables off and you see the two gold prongs on the dock if you touch the two of them togeather with metal part of the screw driver it will act as if you using home button.. If not the dock is faulty..

Because you sayed it was water damaged it might be a problem with the logic board

Well the issue now is that the old assembly of dock connector worked fine with headphones, but now it doesn't when I installed it again. New and old dock connectors show same symptoms, no home button or headphones detection functionality. I'm just a bit puzzled as to why the old one doesn't work now, worked fine expect for home button issue. And thanks for the tip on home button, I tried that and it didn't work so I'm assuming its on board damage now. Any ideas about headphone though?

As the headphones don't work now on the old one and did before points to a board problem.

Did u get it water treated when you got it water damaged?

Yea cleaning with alcohol is good but you can't clean under the shields in iPhone 5 cause they can't be removed with out cutting off.

I use a ultrasonic cleaner myself to get corrosion cleaned off everywere

I do not believe so. The only information I had read online was to apply alcohol on the board? That's pretty much all I did, and I let it dry for about a day in rice. By water treated, should I have performed a different procedure, or to what do you refer? Thanks for all the help so far.

@con is there a specific procedure one should follow? This is the first I've of this and wouldn't mind investing in an ultrasonic cleaner as I do quite a number of repairs. Any links or guidance would be much appreciated. I'm sure this cleans the board much better and rids of more corrosion.
