Home button not working/unresponsive.

Hello all, I know there's a number of these posts already up but hopefully I can squeeze a few more suggestions from more knowledgable members. Long story short, my phone got wet and now home button is not responding. I replaced home button flex, and I even shorted the two metal prongs/connectors to see if it would respond but no luck. I ordered a new charging/dock connector since I read that these also have something to do with home button. My question, anymore places or components to check? Everything works well expect for this and proximity sensor which I ordered as well. Thanks in advance.

Answer this question I have this problem too

If you shorted the contacts and it still didn't work then your problem is most likly the dock connecter.. If you replace it and still nothing then it could be motherboard related..

Fit the new dock and let us no of you findings could help a few people out

Yes I'm hoping that'll fix it, otherwise motherboard repair is quite difficult I'm assuming. Would motherboard damage be something related to actual water damage or just bad installation practice? Thanks for the prompt response, and yes I'll keep the rest of the members here updated.
