Keyboard&Trackpad spontaniously stopped working, How can I Fix It pls?
Hi
Firstly I Love what you are doing with IFIXIT keep up the fantastic work and I will do my part to spread the word far and wide ;-) Thanking You in Advance.
Recently I just opened my Mac Air to a message stating in short that a wireless keyboard and mouse was not locatable.
I do not until now use a mouse nor an external keyboard so I find this rather strange. The cursor was not response and I have only been able to start using the computer again with the purchase of a wireless keyboard and mouse at $31 which I have the right of return withine 14 days ( I do not really like to return things or complain unless they do not meet the level of which they were purchsed for)
Some things that have occurred around the time period of the proverbial hitting the fan...
3 months earlier... Computer choca -full with a lot of photos and sound files...
tried to back up with the result of confusion finally achieved by delelting and backup with exterior hard drives.
Downloaded new Maveric OSX
Used a voucher at a local cafe to gain internet access
closed computer without logging off wireless provider, upon opening up the next day in a different location there was a repeditive noise and opening of the login server window - impossible to clear.
I have been attempting also recently to add a new email address to Macair and because I dont know all the codes for incoming outgoing mail etc ( simple I know, alas I dont and have been busy) - similtaniously at the same time there a message saying there is a fault- normal...
So upon forced quit and hardresetting the computer the noise stopped the window for wireless connection disappeed and cursor was immobilised with message about wireless trackpad and keyboard being non locatable - normal I have never used one until now.
Whats more looking in applicatios and system preferences I do not find anything which seems to allow me to change things.
I have the feeing this is planned obsolencence by our dear Apple as other people are in force mentioning the same or similar issue.
Many Thanks for a solution in advance.
Kind Regards
Yours Sincerely
Andrew Frith
