Green/bluish display with vertical lines

MacBook Pro 15" late 2007

Since few days ago my friends MBP started acting. His display turned first green with thin lines all over and now it switches between greenish and bluish on its own. Moving the display on hinges doesn't change a thing, it behaves the same. The picture on external display is OK. Anyone had a problem like this.

I suppose it is a bad display but could it be a bad cable also?

I've attached the video so you can see it in action

Can you give us the last three digits of your systems serial number so we can correctly identify which version of this system you have.

The driver logic on the back of the LCD panel is failing. Sorry its time for a new display unit.

Hey Dan thanks for the answer. I suppose it can't be bought separately from the display itself?

Here's the IFIXIT Guide to replace the LCD panel: MacBook Pro 15" Core 2 Duo Models A1226 and A1260 LCD Panel Replacement. In Step 30 you can see the logic on the back of the LCD thats gone bad on yours.
