Would ethanol 96% be safe to remove glue residue off an LCD?

Hello friends,

I have this cracked iPhone 5 screen that still works and I would like to replace the front glass myself.

So would 96% ethanol be able to dissolve the residue with ease and without damaging the LCD/touch sensors...?

I know Orange Glo does a great job for this but I live in Belgium, we don't have that product here. I already have the ethanol and I want replace the glass ASAP! I hope you guys can provide me with the right answer.
