charger port issue light water damage

My phone sustained light water damage today. Everything is working fine but when I plug my charger in it does nothing. How can I fix it without having to buy a completely different phone? Ive tried cleaning it. It is a samsung galaxy note 2.

Options

The usual thing to do is leave your phone in a bag of rice for a couple of days which should absorb all the moisture. Then try again.
