Busted Battery or another issue?

My Macbook Air (late 2010) stopped charging and recommended a battery replacement. After replacing the battery with one purchased off of ebay, the computer still turns on when plugged in, but it will not charge. A very faint light is shown on the magsafe. I'm wondering if the problem is with the new battery or if there is another issue internally. Any diagnostic advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Could be either - batteries have been found to be bad straight out of the box, especially the cheaper Chinese ones.

Before jumping to the conclusion something else must be wrong I would try a different battery either from Apple or from one of their recognized resellers. You may have to pay a bit more, but, sometimes you get what you pay for.
