Should I replace power button or power button cable?

My iPhone 5 power button seems to be stuck pushed down. When I use my phone, the "Slide to power off" bar continues to pop up and the phone is constantly turning on and off. There are two guides of iFixIt: Power Button Replacement and Audio Control and Power Button Cable Replacement.

Which one do I want to replace? The power button physically clicks, which makes me think the cable might be stuck down.

Which one am I supposed to replace?

The cable is working correctly, I am thinking that the button has something sticking on it that is causing it not come up enough. First try cleaning the area around the button with alcohol.
