Home Button Doesn't Function After Taking Unit Apart?

I took my iPod apart to remove a connector that got broken off in the lightning port. Got all of that taken care of and put everything back together only to find that my home button is now not functioning. Everything else is working perfectly. There is spring to the button. I've tried recalibrating to no avail and rebooting did not help. I have added the software home button, but would really like to have it fixed properly. Any ideas as to what I've overlooked?

Hi.

Home button is on the charging port flex cable.

There are small elements on this cable. Check them and check flex for damages.

Otherwise you must to replace it.

Regards.
