Earphone jack input loose

When I plug in the earphones, why is it too loose ?not snug and firm ? There is sound . Do I need to replace the earphone jack input ?

Options

The outlet has spring contacts that rub against the plug. One of these goes a little deeper where the plug gets thinner to hold the plug in. one or more have lost there tension.
