Can I replace a 2.13ghz logic board with a 1.86ghz logic board

Hi. I currently have a mid 2009 2.13ghz MacBook Air and the logic board needs replacing. Can I install a mid 2009 1.86ghz logic board instead of a new 2.13. There is a big difference in price!

Thanks a lot for any advice.

Yes you can. As long as they are from the same size machine. When you stay with model years the boards are compatible… some times they cross years, but not very often. Generally the faster boards are just modifications to the base board with faster CPUs and GPUs.

Is the same true for a mid-2012 Air? Can I put the 1.8GHz/4GB in place of a 2.0GHz/8GB version? Thanks! D
