Battery will not charge after replacement

My iPhone battery has been shutting off at like 20% all the time so I figured I needed a new battery.....followed directions exactly while replacing my iphone 5 battery. The battery will not charge at all. The charging icon comes on and it makes a sound when plugged in but the percent wont go up at all. Put the old battery back in my iphone and the same thing. I tried a different cable...cleaned out the charging port....still same thing. It recognizes that its plugged in though. any ideas?

Had a iPhone 5 that was fake charging yesterday and a new lighting port solved the issue

Replace this before you dive into the logicboard damage

I tried to find the best picture I could find. Look above (about a cm in height) where the charger connector is at, there should be a few small towers. yea i don't think anyone discloses that info. You might be able to get it fixed by making a connection with a jumper pen.

Imei check Run the imei in the back of your phone. Most people have no idea that Apple warranties their phone for a whole year.

You may have broken the Charger power tower (it's located right where the Battery connector is). I should know because it happened to me once. Check and see if it's still under warranty, if so get a replacement from Apple.

not under warranty any more. where is this "charger power tower" at? have a picture? this is BS considering i followed directions exactly. no warning/mention in instructions of the possibility of breaking the charging portion. the fact i was very precise in removing battery makes me think many people would have encountered the same issue I'm having.
