Replaced Top Case Keyboard Mouse Don't Work
Hi all,
I have an early 2008 MacBook where the keyboard & mouse don't function but the power button still works. History is unknown; its owner said that it just stopped working one day. Swapped the upper case with a known good one & exactly the same thing happens - nothing from keyboard & mouse and I'm prompted to search for a Bluetooth mouse every time the computer boots. Have tried booting to a Snow Leopard DVD to see if it's the OS but still no luck. External keyboard & mouse work fine, but obviously this isn't ideal for a portable.
I've had a look at the connector for the upper case on the logic board & it looks good - no signs of spills, so I'm leaning towards a logic board but given the age of the unit I'm hoping that it's something else.
Any guesses as to what could be going on here would be very much appreciated.
Cheers.
Is this a good question?

USB keyboard / mouse works fine. I won't be replacing the board on this machine, but thanks for all of your help anyway!

Good workaround. BTW Please mark my answer accepted - it's the only reward I get for volunteering.
