white bars at the top of my screen

I replaced my cracked screen, but with the new screen I have horizontal white bars at the top of the xcreen. They only cover the top 1/8 inch of the screen. I've tried re-seating the screen ribbons to the phone, but the problem does not go away.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

When reassembling your phone, The LCD cable may pop off the connector. This can cause white lines, or nothing at all to appear when powering your phone back on. If that happens, simply reconnect the cable and power cycle your phone. The best way to power cycle your phone is to disconnect and reconnect the battery. Or you may have a non OEM screen.

Also had the same problem with my 5S.

I bought the LCD from phonepartsfix and they claimed that they LCD is of premium quality.

When the replaced the LCD, I saw white bars on top and bottom of my screen.

Called them again for the replace but they told me to clean the connector and it worked.

I had the same issue, but for me, after some time of usage, the white bars fainted and disappeared without any further action.

How long did it take to disappear?

by

If memory serves, the bars were gone after about 2-3 hrs.

Same for me. The blocks faded slowly over an hour or two until they were no longer visible.

Same for me on an iPhone 6 – thanks for the tip :)

I also saw this after replacing the back camera. White bars went away within a couple hours.

After replacing the screen of an Iphone 5, I noticed the white bars at the top. I opened it up again, and cleaned up the connectors. That took care of it.

any good sites with directions on how to do this? and what to use to clean the connectors? I would assume denatured alcohol? I have an iPhone 5 and two days ago I got the white squares at the top. The squares have since disappeared but now my phone randomly opens apps or sometimes won't recognize screen touches. please help? I've taken an iPhone 4 apart before but am nervous to try my iPhone 5. I can't really afford to replace it.
