Options

Power button works but sleep part does not

iPad has never been taken apart, power button on/off works fine but sleep portion does not work at all. I have done all the updates on the iPad. Will replacing power/volume/mute cable fix the problem or is it something else causing problem?

Options

If your on/off and volume controls are working then it could be your control board.

Options

Check your settings and make sure auto lock is turned on. Also, check the mag strip which is on the right hand side of the iPad about halfway up as close to the side as possible. If your power flex is good than holding a magnet over it will put it to sleep.
