Can I DYI fix a broken left-click resistance?

My magic mouse’s left click has suddenly become very difficult to click. It no longer makes the click sound, and the resistance when pushed has gone out.

If I open this thing up, what do I look for to fix it?

The left click of my magic mouse occasionally became a double click. However, disassembling it, applying a contact spray on the part of the switch, I cured it! Thank you!

From what you are describing, I think that the silver spring seen in this picture may be the culprit. Check out the iFixit teardown to decide if you want to tackle this. You might be able to buy one cheap on eBay for parts.

Thanks! I went ahead and stopped by Best Buy on my way home and picked another Magic Mouse up. I think I'll go ahead and try to fix the old one when I have some free time.
