iPhone 4 3G 'no service' 'searching...' And 'SOS only'

I have replaced many parts of my iPhone 4 and have had many problems after replacing certain parts.

The problem i have now is with 3G and sending and recieving calls and texts.

I have looked online and have been told to check if the little antenna right next to where the battery joins is connected properly and it is.

I am thinking it is a motherboard issue but I am stuck as to what to do now.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

can u tell abt the history of the phone?(like water damage , dropped , etc)

and there is a fix for "no service" 100%

worst case if thats ur board faulty.

u can get it fixed by a highly experienced technician who has giant knowledge of mobiles.

there is receptoion coil there which could cause that issue..

here is a link have a look

Screen has been replaced many times,

I have repaired other parts of the phone many times so i have taken out the motherboard and battery etc a lot of times. My guess is that in doing this i have damaged part of the motherboard. Possibly the part the video talks about.

I have already looked into it and seen videos like the one you showed me but i have already spent in excess of $80 on spare parts and I am wondering whether there is any point getting it professionally repaired or whether i should just go and buy a new phone.

I also do not know of anyone who does such a repair job.

Hey there try this... make sure that the metal contact that sticks up near the battery is connecting to the back of the iphone. slightly bend it upwards so you know it makes contact. Ive had this issuse several times when replacing parts and this was always the case. Hope it helps. Simple fix

The metal contact you are talking about, is that the little piece that comes free when you undo the screw for where the battery connects?

by

yes it is. Bend it upward a little to make sure it connects with the back cover fully. also make sure to clean the contact spot on the back cover. take an eraser and it should clean it easily. let me know if this helps

I tried bending it up and cleaning the back cover, i even tested a new back cover with it and i am still recieving 'SOS only', 'searching..' And 'no service' at different times.

I had this problem too - when I turned on my my phone it said SOS only in the top left corner. What I did is turn it off for 5-10 minutes and then turned it back on. When it turned on it said Telstra 4G and it was all good.

Hopefully this helps and it is much cheaper than going to a technician but if that doesnt work, the next thing a recommend is going to a technician and he/she will tell you that you either need to buy a new phone or that they can fix it.

Hope this helps. =)
