What to use for shim iPod home button?

The home button contact needs a shim I see some guys use bonding. What should I use? I see that JB weld stuff is that any good....? Also I'm not in the mood to make some investment in this stuff. As we know only a drop is needed.... So what have you used for this process of fixing the home button.?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I have used a couple of drops of super glue in the past. It's just important that you let it dry before adding more, and before reassembly!

On all of the videos and step by step web pages on repairing the ipod touch 4g, I have yet to see what this shim looks like. Does anyone have a photograph? Apparently the shim is missing in mine. I took it apart to replace the screen and now the home button won't work.

@grybo1960 - There is not an "official" shim. The reason why a shim or spacer is necessary in some cases is that all replacement parts are not made to the exact same physical specs as the original parts. You can also use a small piece of Kapton tape as a spacer as well.
