iPhone 5 home button ribbon cable replacement

my home button has been less responsive even after calibration and cleaning so I suspect that the ribbon cable is to blame. Since it is held on by adhesive and taking the old broken one off would remove said adhesive, do I need to worry about the new cable not adhering, if so what adhesive should I use?

Any replacement cable worth buying will have the adhesive already on it. Just be sure that you purchase from a good source, such as the one here.
