Which memory slot to use when modules have different sizes?

Hi,

I have a MacBook Core Duo (A1181) that came with a single 512MB of RAM module and for which I ordered a new 1GB RAM module (from iFixit store). Now, my question is the following: Should I leave the 512MB RAM module in its original slot and put the new 1GB RAM module in the second slot or, should I replace the 512MB RAM module with the new 1GB RAM module and put the original 512MB RAM module in the second slot?

Thanks.

It makes no difference which module is sitting in which slot in this case.
