My iPod 5th Generation (Video) will not get off of hold!

One day, I placed it in hold so it can stay off and not loose charge while I was in school. When I take it out and pushed back the hold button, it would get off of hold. No matter how many times I push it, the hold sign doesn't do away and I can't press anything.

When I connect it to the computer, it turns on and connects to iTunes as usual but it is still stuck on hold.

Help!

It's a iPod 5th Generation (Video) with 30GB of memory D:

Rosa, two things that may have happened. Open your iPod following this guide. 1.Check to make sure that the hold switch is still engaged at the cable. If so, then 2. start by replacing the flex cable. Also, of course, make sure that it is properly inserted at the connector on the logic board. Hope this helps, good luck.
