Why won't my screen come on

I replaced my ipad mini digitizer due to a cracked screen, I did not turn the power off completely and when I reassembled it would not come on. I have to admit I did put in the screen the wrong way and I could smell the LCD burning, now I am not sure if the LCD is the problem or I have damaged the board, is possible to figure out which it could before sending it to u guys, i want to know If it is worth repairing or buying a new one, it does not have a retina display
