Hallo there,

I ordered an iphone 5 display from Germany, however with shipping and custom fees it become the double amount, as to what I have paid here.

While, I was aware of the shipping fees (35$, FedEx, not able to deliver to DHL packstations). I calculated this overhead compared to some sellers in Germany, just to support the ifixit platform, which I like very much as an idea. However, I was negatively surprised about the custom fees Im expected to pay (other 40$).

So, if buying iFixit parts outside US is really expensive, does that means that iFixIt is a platform which suits only for North America ?

If this, I would have wished when ordering repair parts a real hint with big letters (and not just a small hint somewhere in the sales policies).

According to the sales department, the answer is http://eustore.ifixit.com/, i.e. the European Store.

In this case if a European client orders from the US shop, why don't you forward him to the European shop automatically or at least give him a huge letter hint about it ?

For me, this was a costly lesson, learning about it.
