No IP address for my Airport Extreme Card

I set up a new home wireless network with a lynksis wireless router. Both my desktop pc and laptop pc are connected with perfect internet access. My Mac network assistant keeps saying "you are connected to LARRYNET3 (name of network) with Airport but your AIRPORT EXTREME CARD does not have an IP address so you cannot connect to the internet."

I have been connected to many different wireless networks with the mac and the Airport extreme card over the past several years and never encountered this problem.

Can I assign an IP address to the Airport Card somehow?

Thank you for your help.

Thanks very much for the feedback. I bought a new netgear wireless router and got the whole network up and running. My old netgear router was broken, and the lynksis router was not Mac compatible.

Try going under the options tab, and see if you can renew your "DHCP Lease" this may solve your problem. If not, try opening the computer and re-seating the airport card. Also, try going to your router configuration page, and see if MAC adress filtering it turned on. If it is, you must enter your computer's wireless MAC adress to the "Allowed" list. Note; Both PC's and Macs have MAC addresses.

In case you need some clarification: A MAC address is the physical hardware address of a device, it is different from an IP address and cannot be changed. Anything that connects to a network has one.
