How do I replace the back glass on an iPhone 5?

The back glass on my iPhone 5 is cracked. I am under the impression that you simply heat it up to weaken the adhesive and the pry it off. Do I need to take the phone apart to do this or can i just do it with the phone still in tact? Also, what adhesive should I use in order to get a flush finish with no protrusions? While I'm here I don't suppose anyone has any clever ways of getting rid of big scratches on the metal slate back? Thank you in advance for any answers! :)

The antenna and flex cables are untie this glass. I would strongly recommend against prying off the glass directly as it is way too risky

The glass is adhered to the frame using epoxy glue. It does not get softened with heat, so hard prying and scraping is required. It is precision matched and installed using expensive machinery with microns of accuracy, there is no way you can do better than apple, slight mismatch is acceptable. After all, successfully repairing the glass is already an achievement
