Reset iPhone, lose phone info?

I put a new SIM card in my 3GS and everything seems to work fine. However I would like to reset the phone and start fresh. I know how to do that. What I am unsure about is whether the phone information, number, all the serial numbers, etc. will I have to get a new sim card if I do a hard reset?

Any help would be truly appreciated.
