airport card wireless connection

I did not purchase the optional airport card with my Power Mac G5...

Could you please let me know what type of airport card I would need to buy to go online wirelessly...

You need an Airport Extreme Card and an external antenna. I will list some links to help you. If you download the User Guide it has the installation pictures for you.
