file folder with an exclamation point, won't restore

iTunes sees my iPod mini but won't restore it

any help?

Typically, that's the sign of a dead harddrive. With the iPod mini, you can actually replace the harddrive with a compact flash card- if you are interested in repairing it, I'd suggest you get one of those instead of a new microdrive.
