iPod won't turn on when it's not plugged in.

when I plug my iPod into my computer it say's it's charge but when i unplug it, it won't turn on. Does that mean the battery is dead?

Try geting a new batery for the iPod

What happen if you unlpug it from the computer - stays it on ?

had the iPod any contact with steam or fluids

when I unplug it automatically turns off. no, there weren't any liquid issues.

strange - if the battery would be dead - the iPod normally won't start - so the battery deliver the right voltage - but the capacity could be gone.

so yes - the battery could be dead!

the point is: are you "able" to do that?
