Mic not working on calls, but works with videos

I have an iPhone 4 CDMA. The microphone does not work on calls or voice memo, but works when taking videos. Also, the volume controls do not work. I bought this used, so I don't know what type of damage it may have sustained before I got it. I've tried changing the charge port flex (which includes the microphone) , but still no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

There are 2 different mics in the iPhone, One on the bottom for voice memo and calls, the other on the top near the headphone jack for videos.

THe one that is not working is mart of the charging port assembly. You would need to take the phone apart and make sure there isn't any liquid damage on or around the charger port connector on the main board. If not, then I would suspect the charger port it'self.

Once this is replaced with a new on you should be good to go.

Hi, I have the same issue, I replace the charging port assembly and had the problem before as well as after the reassembly. Hopefully this isn't a logic board issue, but i'm hoping someone has some ideas. Before, the phone also did not receive audio through the 3.5mm jack. It did transfer over bluetooth, so the only place my phone is a phone is in my Jeep. haha Does anyone have any ideas on this issue?
