iPhone 4 GSM power button not working, after replacement.

I am an experienced iPhone repair technician, but I have never came across a lock button repair, strangely enough. After attempting to replace the assembly on my mothers iPhone 4, the power button no longer works. However The proximity sensor does. And I'm guessing the upper FaceTime microphone does too!

Any !@#$ regarding this issue would be great! One of the things that strikes me as odd on the replacement however was the actually connector itself. It looks like it's missing a pin! But as it's 3rd party you can't always expect 100% now can you!

Answer this question I have this problem too

You're experience, so I wont insult you by asking if you ordered the CDMA version cable for the GSM version phone, or vice versa. With my big hands, it can be difficult to maneuver my hands, so i have to make sure to hold down the contacts with a spudger. I would also loo up pictures of the connector to make sure you're not missing a pin.

Thanks for the reply. It turned out that it was a missing pin, after I ordered and fitted my replacement I quickly discovered that the microphone on the dock connector was not working, and I have literally tried everything, I am even debating wether it is the Audi IC on the logic board. Any ideas ?

if the audio ic chip is bad you will have no mic no sound on loud speaker during a call and no sound from ear peice on call. If not you need to replace the dock
