Needing an acceptable harddrive replacement.

I've been reading and it seems that either 1TB Drive or 2 TB Drive might work.

Also it's mentioned on those two items that on some computers you must use the same brand as came with it. Can anyone confirm for me that won't be an issue with my 24" iMac?

The 1 TB drive will probably give you the most value. I've never run across any Mac that needed the same brand of hard drive. I know of no reason to use the same brand of drive. Just make sure it's a SATA.
