I have a G3 iBook and need to replace the backlight as my screen is black, however I am using my laptop with an external monitor and everything is fine with complete visual.
What would be the ideal part to simply replace the "backlight"?
I was looking at all the options & came across product # IF150-043-1 or apple part # 9232-5019
Is this the correct part as there seems to be many options.

Buy a used (but in good condition) iBook G3 or iBook G4 LCD panel on ebay and you'll save yourself the trouble to swap the backlight lamp or the backlight assembly. It's hard to do a completely successfull job. Often, after the swap, the screen lightning is not perfect (uneven). But it's from my experience...maybe you'll have more luck than me.
