Can I insert 16Gb RAM into MacBook Pro early 2011?

Apple says that I can upgrade my RAM from 4Gb to 8Gb (2x4Gb RAM's). Is it possible to install 2x8Gb DDR3 1600MHz cards into my Mac?

Yes!

You can use two 8GB memory modules (matched) to get to 16GB. Make sure you have updated your EFI/SMC firmware. Follow this Apple TN on how to check and get the firmware EFI & SMC firmware updates for Intel-based Macs
