iPhone 4S A1387 screen replacement same for 8GB versus 16, 32 and 64?

I was told that the 8GB 4S is actually a 4 and therefore requires a different LCD digitizer assembly than the 16, 32 and 64GB 4S's. Is this true?

berkley, if your phone is an A1387 then it is a 4S, regardless of the memory size. The LCD as well as the procedure are the same. Hope this helps, good luck.

That makes sense. Somebody on the Apple site discussions insists that the 8GB version is really a 4 and requires a different assembly.

berkley, never heard that one before. Again, if your phone is displaying a A1387, it is a 4S...

Yeah, so I have 1 person saying it's the same, and 1 person saying it's different. I wish I could get a couple more responses, but yours makes sense to me. Thanks

How about this. If your phone is a A1387 you purchase the display assembly for the 4S and if it does not fit, return it and I will buy you an assembly for the 4 :-) According to your information I am confident about that. You are the one that can prove, or disprove the misinformation :-)

WoW. I already purchased it.

According to http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ip... the A1387 8GB is the 4S* which is the global version.

Hope that helps
